Banjo-Kazooie In the Darkness Lies OC ReMix - DragonAvenger, The Joker

Physical age: 18
Current height: 5'7
Current weight: 55kgs
Blood type: AB

Medical conditions: haemophilia; anemia; extremely high metabolism; weak immune system.

Background

One day, Bakura's soul (or heart, since that was what was being weighed) was being put on trial. Maat, being the kind (*cough*) and just Goddess that she is, reasoned that because Bakura's soul had been tainted by Zorc's, he couldn't get a fair trial.

Thoth was against not giving Bakura a trial then and there, because it meant he had to record extra stuff. Cue squabbling amongst the Gods who were equally divided between not giving him a trial, and just throwing his heart to Ammut. Ammut, whose opinion didn't matter anyway, was all for getting a free meal.

Eventually Osiris, Anubis and Wepwawet decided that Bakura wouldn't travel any further into the Underworld at that point in time, which forced the trial to stop. After all, if his heart was weighed and the result was that it was pure (fat chance), the three Gods of the Underworld wouldn't allow him to leave Maat's chamber. Which would mean that no other trials could go on, which would create a blockage in the system, and even more work for Thoth, who changed his vote as soon as he was told this.

So Maat told Bakura that he would receive a chance. If he could co-exist with Atem, who would again be considered the Living Horus by the Gods, and produce a list of twenty-three bad deeds he hadn't committed (as the Gods apparently understood that the taint on his soul and his life's experiences wouldn't allow him to achieve a list of forty-six), they would allow his soul to pass on.

Bakura seized the opportunity to not have his soul devoured, and was put into a body resembling that of his former host's, much to Ammut's disappointment.

However, Isis, Hathor, Nut, Geb and even Ra weren't pleased with the decision to allow the thief to redeem himself, possibly due to the fact that more than one temple of theirs had been desecrated by him, but created the body he was to use anyway. Out of spite inspired by Set (who would later claim he was just having a bit of harmless fun, really), they created his body so that it would have little to none of the muscle he'd gained by exercising his old body, so that his blood would take longer to clot, and so that his general recovery rate from illness and injury was longer.

As Bakura would often say to Yami: "They're a bunch of fucking bastards and if it weren't for you, I'd still be able to walk around in winter with an unbuttoned shirt and not end up in a hospital bed."

How any of it was Yami's fault remains to be seen. I doubt we'll ever know. (It's worth noting that a part of Bakura's ire was created by the fact that Yami healed at triple the normal rate, never got ill, and was somehow always at a comfortable temperature. It also never rained on Yami. The rain stopped when he was outside, yet if Bakura walked outside when it was just a drizzle, it would turn into a thunderstorm within minutes. The only way he could get around on rainy days was by walking next to Yami.)

However, because Ra was (somewhat uncharacteristically, given the way he's portrayed in mythology) involved in this, his Eternal Rival(TM) Apep decided, hey, let's screw things up a bit.

So the Sennen Items were released, and Bakura was told that if he could obtain them all (without killing any of the owners), he'd either get a body that could at least endure the weather, or he would go back to Maat's chamber to get tried again, if he believed he could list those twenty-three deeds.

Amun was apparently AWOL during all of this.

...That was supposed to be Bakura's plot. It, uh. Kind of. Mutated itself.

Instead of the War Gods + Set stirring up a bit of chaos, the Gods were never mentioned again during the game, except for when Bakura was bitching. (Although, there was that time he hallucinated some of them laughing at him after he got himself into a fight and discovered that part about his blood not clotting. Bastards.)

So the plot changed itself from Gods vs Bakura to Bakura vs People Unwilling to Surrender Their Items.

It was still all one big game for the Gods, though. Kind of like a television show.

So Bakura was constantly challenging Yami to games, making bets with him, and at one point even getting him drunk, in order to get the Puzzle. He did get it, once. That time he got Yami drunk. The moment he was ten metres away from Yami, the Puzzle dissolved in his hands and re-appeared around Yami's neck.

Bakura was pissed.

The same thing happened with the other Items, if he attempted to take them unfairly.

Um.

...God I write long things.

Important Note: Bakura's already got his list of Twenty-Three Bad Things I Didn't Do. It goes something like this;

1. Didn't kill the Pharaoh.
2. Didn't kill Yuugi.
3. Didn't kill my Landlord.
4. Didn't kill the shopkeeper.
5. Didn't steal from the shopkeeper.
6. Didn't kill the police.
7. Didn't blow up the police car.
8. Didn't mock the police.
9. Didn't blow up the police helicopter.
10. Didn't kidnap the Kaiba kid.

And so on.

A-also. He reads fortunes. But because I haven't built an Occult deck, even though I have about two hundred cards he... wasn't... given an Occult deck (flimsy excuse at 1:00!), the cards he uses are a mix-and-match. And I really do mean that. Kuriboh, Dark Necrofear, and Luster Dragon in the same deck. What.

If someone gives him a deck of tarot cards, he'll read them, if he's bored. Mainly because I hate getting my tarot out because they annoy me. And because I lost my favoured tarot and would have to use one of the other ones that I sigh at because I just don't like them as much.

If anyone wants a girly fortune, have your character find a Unicorn oracle. Girliest. Cards. Ever. Seriously. I could rant and laugh about the cards in there, but that's not exactly part of his backstory even though he read them for Yuugi. He offered to do Yami's cards and then did that childish "no, I don't want to because I don't like you" thing.

CONTINUING WITH THE BACKSTORY.

It was decided amongst the players that Bakura would never, ever, ever get the Sennen Puzzle. Because we're assholes. (But we treated all of our characters with the same amount of assholishness. Noa kept dying and having to get rebooted pre-Noa's Ark, and then get his memory updated so that he wasn't trying to kill everyone. Seto went missing because his player did. Mokuba went missing on a quest to find Seto because the same person played Seto and Mokuba. Yami was being stalked by hit-men who weren't actually hired by Bakura (who laughed his ass off when he found out). Yuugi was almost taken away by social workers when they found him parading about in leather near a club. Ryou had to deal with Bakura and strange people approaching him asking for human organs. I don't remember what other characters we had because I didn't really play with them what the other characters copped.)

Shit. I've forgotten the important points now. I can only remember the thread Ryou and Bakura had after Ryou fled Japan and found out that Bakura was somehow known in Africa, and Bakura was tight-lipped about that month he was missing from the game because I was on hiatus and why no country-wide searches (funded by KaibaCorp) found him.

Ryou also never found out why Bakura moved all of his gaming equipment to the Kame Game Shop before burning his apartment building down a few days later. For the record, it was because Bakura needed to fake his own death to get out of a bad deal with a gang. (They wanted a kid kidnapped. Bakura wanted more money to soothe his conscience. That part went alright - it was when Bakura killed a few of them and took the kid back that they got pissed off.)

But that turned out fine, because with the reward money Bakura got from the kid's parents (and the stuff he managed to slip into his pockets when they were busy gushing over their kid), plus the insurance, plus what he'd gotten from the gang, they were able to move into a new apartment where the residents didn't avoid Ryou, and where they didn't tell their children to "stay away from that bad man with the white hair".

Bakura managed all of his and Ryou's money. Which meant that as long as there was food in the apartment and the power wasn't cut, Ryou didn't ask where the money was coming from.

Bakura would have found his own place, but for some reason, landowners didn't like him. It was also convenient, having someone to answer the phone and keep the place clean. Another bonus was that because Ryou was there, Yuugi visited. Because Bakura was there, Yami followed Yuugi. Which meant that Bakura could make another attempt at getting the Puzzle. But mainly it was for the plot's sake.

The problem with playing a character from an RP from so long ago is that events get muddled in your mind. A lot like Yuugiou's canons, actually.

I can't remember much more at the moment, so.

...I do remember that he wanted to break into Kaiba's mansion, just to see if he could, and that Seto wanted him to try it, so that he could see how good his security was. They never got around to doing it, though.

God I tl;dr things.
